Shaping the Future of Motion: Automate 2026 Recap

What an incredible week! Automate 2026 has officially wrapped up, and the energy at Chicago’s McCormick Place was absolutely electric.

As North America’s largest automation and robotics event, this year’s show was the largest on record with over 1,000 exhibitors—and DieQua was right in the thick of it in the North Building.

From June 22–25, our team had the privilege of connecting with engineers, innovators, and partners to discuss the evolving challenges in modern manufacturing and how precision motion control can solve them.

Here is a look back at our biggest takeaways and highlights from the show floor.

1. AI is Top of Mind

This year, there was a lot of talk about AI integration, which feels like a natural step for an automation system. Engineers are using AI to help them solve the same problems they’ve always faced, such as achieving smaller footprints and finding components that offer higher torque density, zero backlash, and flawless reliability.

At the DieQua booth, we enjoyed showcasing how our diverse lineup of performance gearboxes, screw jacks, and servo-gearheads are uniquely engineered to meet these rigorous demands.

2. Modular Innovation is Valuable

One of our favorite parts of Automate is introducing new ways to help our customers optimize their designs. This year, conversations frequently turned to modularity and how integrating smart, adaptable components can drastically cut down on engineering time and maintenance overhead.

Whether visitors were looking at GearSync’s motor compatibility or ZIMM’s modular screw jack systems, the focus was centered on reducing system complexity while maximizing uptime.

3. Dancing Robots are a Big Draw

There were plenty of humanoid robots dancing, working, and even serving popcorn to keep visitors engaged. This year’s robotics were smoother, faster, more precise, and more complex—all thanks to outstanding gearbox technologies. We talked a lot about our extensive planetary line and how it can help motion control systems gain the precision they need.
